Replication has not been observed in amphibian or mammalian cell lines. Brook trout 4 weeks of age die 1-4 weeks after feeding on the virus. Stable at -20°C ( 7 years) or at 4°C ( in 50% glycerol). This is a serious salmonid fish pathogen.
